How to Draw a Jaguar

The Jaguar is one of the largest predators in the feline family. Even though this animal looks a lot like a Cat, it is still more challenging to draw. In this lesson, we will review the steps of drawing a jaguar using #2 pencil.

Step 1

The first thing you want to do is to draw circles of different shapes and sizes to help you sketch a body of a jaguar in a standing position.

Step 2

Then we move further down and draw the circles for the knees. You should also outline the jaguar's front legs here.

Step 3

Now that the first part of the drawing is done, move on to the second stage. Work some more on the outline of the jaguar's trunk and legs.

Step 4

Erase all unnecessary lines from earlier steps and focus on a few important details of your drawing. Lastly, draw the tail.

Step 5

Now work on your jaguar's head. Draw two ears and do a rough outline of the jaguar's snout. After that, you can proceed to the final step of this drawing.

Step 6

Add a few distinct features such as the spotted pelt. Don't forget to draw whiskers and add the claws to the animal's feet. Your jaguar should come out looking very realistic if you stick to the steps above. Although at first it might seem like a difficult task, following the step-by-step method makes it easy.
